Join Our Team as an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Inspector at Køge Hospital Project Team I/S

About the Role: We are seeking an OHS Inspector to join our dynamic and diverse team at the Køge Hospital Project Team I/S. You will be part of a growing team with colleagues from various nationalities, where our positive approach to diversity is reflected.

The OHS Inspector will support in overseeing site OHS supervision and ensuring compliance with safety requirements as per the contract and local legislation. You will work closely with the OHS Supervisor and fellow OHS Inspectors and also collaborate with Quality Inspectors on overlapping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Policy & Regulation Maintenance:

  • Monitor compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all personnel and sub-contractors.
  • Raise health and safety awareness and report on key issues.
  • Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks.
  • Enforce OHS policies (e.g., accident reporting process).
  • Collaborate with managers to ensure site compliance with relevant safety legislation and regulations.
  • Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OHS matters.
  • Attend, participate and facilitate safety meetings and conduct safety induction programs for new joiners regularly.

Site Safety Inspections:

  • Perform daily site inspections.
  • Implement safety corrective actions from site inspections, investigations, or compliance requirements.
  • Intervene in unsafe activities or operations and take corrective action.
  • Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and unsafe acts.

Accident Investigation:

  • Respond immediately to safety incidents/accidents and implement risk mitigation strategies promptly.
  • Support incident management processes in investigations, data gathering, and reporting.
  • Advise on corrective actions for incidents, accidents, or near misses.
  • Direct accident investigation procedures.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Complete and provide site safety reports as required.
  • Manage safety administration, records, registers, and documentation.

 

 

Requirements:

  • An educational degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Health & Safety, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both verbally and written (proficiency in Danish is an advantage).
  • High level of communication skills and excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and MS Outlook (knowledge of Dalux software or similar is an advantage).
  • Ability to prioritize workload, organize time and tasks efficiently, and be proactive.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability with a strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

About the Organisation:

The Køge Hospital Project represents a significant expansion and complete renovation of the current hospital in Køge. Upon completion, this project will integrate new specialty departments, various research departments, and a wide array of healthcare services under one roof. This modernized facility will serve the entire Region of Zealand and will be one of the three emergency hospitals in the region, significantly enhancing healthcare delivery.
